AQA-City & Guilds have combined our respective knowledge and expertise to develop and deliver a range of high quality Diplomas that promote all-round education, reflect the needs of business and industry and increase the employability of students.

City & Guilds is the leading vocational awarding body in the UK, offering more than 500 qualifications over 29 industry sectors, through 8500 approved centres in around 100 countries worldwide. AQA is the UK’s main provider of GCSEs and A levels, with over 3.5million AQA examinations being taken every year. It is recognised by schools and colleges as the number one choice for quality products and customer service.

Launching in September 2008, the new Diplomas have been developed to increase the employability of 14 - 19 year old learners by:

  • developing the specific workplace skills that employers are looking for
  • improving key generic skills like numeracy, literacy, communication and ICT
  • preparing them for the world of work through relevant placements and team projects
  • opening up choices for young people by offering different ways of learning and a route into higher education or employment

We are currently looking for development consultants to work with us to develop qualifications for our Diploma portfolio.

The short term focus for the role is likely to be the development of the Diploma qualifications in Science, Languages and International Communication or Humanities and Social Sciences

Applicants must be:

Educated to degree level or equivalent

Be able to deliver high quality work to deadlines

Be flexible and committed to the principle behind the development of Diplomas

Have recent, relevant teaching experience of 14 – 19 year olds in the areas of Science, Languages and International Communication or Humanities and Social Sciences

OR

Have recent industry experience in the areas of Science, Languages and International Communication or Humanities and Social Sciences
