In September 2008, City & Guilds will be looking to centres to pilot the new Level Five Certificate in Teaching the 14 – 19 Diplomas.

Cramming for exams could become a thing of the past for many sixth formers.
Pupils opting to take advanced-level diploma courses instead of A-levels will earn three quarters of their final grades without sitting any formal examinations. -

Extended Diploma
The Secretary of State announced in his speech at the ASCL conference in Brighton on 7th March that the new qualification, the Extended Diploma, is to be available from 2011 and will be designed to extend each of the 17 Diploma lines across all levels.
